Shademaker Apollo™ Semi-Cassette & Full Cassette Retractable Awning with LED Lights
The Shademaker Apollo™ is a motorized cassette retractable awning available in two housings: a semi-cassette (hood over the rolled fabric) and a full cassette (fabric, arms and roller fully enclosed when retracted). It spans up to 23 feet wide with up to 13 feet of projection, runs on a Somfy® motor (5-year warranty), uses Sunbrella® fabric (10-year warranty), and can be ordered with integrated LED lighting in the arms and front bar. Semi-cassette models start at $5,639 and full cassette models at $6,450, with free shipping to the lower 48 states from 1800Awnings in Tampa, Florida.
Florida Proven. Engineered to Perform.
Apollo™ is a modern, architecturally driven retractable awning for residential and light commercial use. It combines sleek design, refined engineering and integrated technology in one outdoor system built for sun, heat and coastal environments. Most awnings look like an add-on — Apollo™ looks like it was designed with the home.
- Clean, low-profile cassette design
- Smooth, refined appearance open or closed
- Fully concealed components — no exposed wiring or bulky hardware
- Proportions that complement modern and coastal architecture
Semi-Cassette vs Full Cassette: Choose Your Apollo™
Apollo™ Semi-Cassette Retractable Awning — Balanced Protection, Clean Design
A streamlined protective hood covers the rolled fabric when the awning is retracted while keeping a sleek, low-profile look. Ideal for wall, soffit or roof-mounted installations and patios with some natural shelter. Starts at $5,639.
Apollo™ Full Cassette Retractable Awning — Maximum Protection, Premium Finish
When retracted, the fabric, arms and internal components close completely inside the cassette, leaving only a clean aluminum box on the wall. This gives the highest durability and the most architectural appearance — the best choice for coastal homes, exposed patios and high-end projects. Starts at $6,450.

Why Choose the Shademaker Apollo™ — Buy Right the First Time
Lower-cost awnings often use inferior fabric, weak arms and limited protection — fabric fades, arms lose tension, parts are hard to find and warranties go unhonored. Most end up replaced, not repaired. Apollo™ uses Sunbrella® fabric with a real warranty, proven Somfy® motors, precision-engineered structural components and a design built for Florida heat, sun and coastal exposure.
Popular upgrades: Apollo Night Series™ LED lighting, smart automation package (sensors + app control), motorized drop shade, custom fabric and frame selections.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is the difference between a semi-cassette and a full cassette retractable awning?
A semi-cassette awning has a hood that covers the top of the rolled fabric when retracted, while the arms and underside remain exposed. A full cassette awning closes completely, sealing the fabric, arms and roller inside an aluminum box. Full cassette gives more protection and a cleaner look; semi-cassette costs less.
Is a full cassette awning worth it in Florida or near the coast?
Yes, for most exposed or coastal installations. Enclosing the fabric and arms shields them from salt air, rain, pollen and UV when the awning is closed, which extends the life of the system. At most sizes the Apollo™ full cassette costs about $1,020 more than the semi-cassette at the same width and projection, and the difference ranges from about $720 to $1,750 depending on size.
Can I get a retractable awning with LED lights?
Yes. The Apollo Night Series™ adds LED lighting integrated into the arms (2-arm kit $789, 3-arm kit $1,091) and an optional LED front bar. Lights are remote-controlled, dimmable and can sync with the awning motor. LED options are available on both semi-cassette and full cassette models.
How much does a motorized cassette retractable awning cost?
The Shademaker Apollo™ semi-cassette starts at $5,639 (11 ft wide x 8'-2" projection) and the full cassette starts at $6,450, up to $11,200 for a 23 ft x 13 ft full cassette. Motorization and free shipping to the lower 48 states are included; LED lighting and sensors are optional add-ons.
How big can the Apollo™ awning be?
Apollo™ is available from 11 to 23 feet wide with projections of 8'-2", 10'-6", 11'-6" or 13'-0". For wider spans, see the Shademaker Zeus™ full cassette awning (9 to 40 ft wide, up to 13 ft projection, from $4,322) or the Shademaker Hercules™ heavy-duty awning (17 to 40 ft wide, up to 16'-6" projection, from $9,477). If low morning or late-afternoon sun is your main problem, the Shademaker Helios™ adjustable front bar awning (12 to 29 ft wide, from $4,655) lets you lower the leading edge after it extends. Compare all four in our Apollo vs Zeus vs Hercules guide.
How long does delivery take?
Each Apollo™ is made to order to your dimensions and fabric choice, and most orders ship in 2–3 weeks with free shipping to the 48 contiguous states. Because awnings are custom, all sales are final — order fabric samples first if you're unsure.
Can I install it myself?
Yes. 1800Awnings ships direct for self-install. With two or three helpers, most homeowners can mount the brackets into studs or solid masonry, hang the cassette and set the pitch in a day; a hardwired motor or LED connection should go to a licensed electrician, and a professional installer is a good idea for roof mounts and large spans. Follow our step-by-step DIY retractable awning installation guide and measuring guide, or call 1-800-AWNINGS (296-4647) for help choosing a size or mounting location.
