Why aluminum wins in Florida

Florida punishes building materials three ways at once: relentless UV, salt-laden humidity, and wind. Wood shutters swell and rot. Fabric awnings mildew, fade and shred. Steel rusts. Powder-coated aluminum shrugs all of it off and needs nothing more than a rinse. Frequently asked questions

Do you ship anywhere in Florida?

Yes. Every product is built in our Tampa facility and ships to all of Florida, from Pensacola to Key West. Larger canopies and retractable systems ship freight; Bahama shutters ship boxed.

Do I need a permit for an awning or Bahama shutters in Florida?

Usually yes for anything attached to the structure. Requirements vary by county and city. Add the Engineering option at checkout and we supply sealed drawings you can submit with your permit application.

Are aluminum awnings better than fabric in Florida?

For most Florida applications, yes. Powder-coated aluminum does not mildew, fade or tear in UV and humidity, and it handles wind far better than fabric. Fabric still makes sense for retractable systems that roll away in a storm. See our aluminum vs fabric comparison.

Can Bahama shutters be closed before a hurricane?

Bahama shutters hinge from the top and can be lowered flat over the window. Whether they count as code-approved storm protection depends on the model and your jurisdiction; ask us about product approvals for your county before relying on them as hurricane protection.

How long does it take?

Custom sizes are built to order. Typical lead times are shown on each product page and we will confirm a ship date when your order is placed.
