The Sunflexx® is Eastern Awning Systems' top retractable awning, and 1800Awnings.com is Eastern's National Master Dealer. Order it built to your exact width, choose manual or motorized, and we ship it free to any of the 48 contiguous states, typically in 2–3 weeks.
Most retractable awnings use rigid arm joints. When a gust pushes up or down on the fabric, that force goes straight into the arms and the wall mount. The Sunflexx is built around Eastern's patented urethane compression shoulder joint, which works like a shock absorber: it compresses under wind or rain load from either direction, then slowly returns to position. Eastern says this protects both the awning frame and your house from damage, and it's the reason the Sunflexx carries the industry's most comprehensive 15-year frame warranty.
The other thing you'll notice is the hidden front rail. The fabric wraps the front bar, so there's no strip of bare metal across the front of the awning. It looks cleaner from the patio and from the yard.
Eastern engineers the Sunflexx "to withstand greater upward or downward force from unexpected inclement weather than any other retractable awning system," and it's the only nationally sold retractable awning with certified engineered wind loads. The numbers behind it:

Every Sunflexx is made to order, so orders can't be returned or cancelled once confirmed. Please check your measurements, or read our measuring guide, before ordering.
Eastern certifies the Sunflexx's wind loads on ordinary 2×4 stud walls, so a properly mounted DIY install holds up. With two or three helpers, most homeowners can lag the brackets into studs or anchor them into solid masonry, hang the awning and set the pitch in a day. Manual cranks and plug-in motors need no electrician; only a hardwired motor connection should go to a licensed pro. Download the installation manual above, then follow our step-by-step DIY retractable awning installation guide.

Yes. The Sunflexx® is manufactured in the United States by Eastern Awning Systems.
The frame is covered for 15 years, and the patented urethane shoulder joint is warranted for 10 years. See the warranty for full terms.
The Sunflexx handles gusts better than most retractable awnings, but like every retractable awning, it shouldn't be left extended unattended in storms. A wind sensor will retract a motorized awning automatically.
Projections go to 14' standard, with custom projections available. Widths are built to order. Call for sizes beyond what the online selector shows.
