Why We Send CAD Drawings Before You Buy

20 Jun 2026 0 comments

Buying a custom awning online usually means crossing your fingers and hoping the thing that shows up matches what you pictured. We took that risk off the table. Before we build your awning, we send you CAD drawings of your specific product so you can see exactly what you're getting and verify it before a single piece is fabricated.

What a CAD drawing actually shows you

A CAD (computer-aided design) drawing is a precise, to-scale technical drawing of your awning — dimensions, projection, mounting details, and configuration. It's not a generic catalog picture; it's your awning, drawn to the measurements and options you selected.

Why this matters more than you'd think

You catch issues before they're expensive. A wrong dimension or a clearance problem is easy to fix on paper and costly to fix after production. Reviewing drawings first prevents that.

You get exactly what you ordered. When you approve a drawing, you and we are working from the same source of truth. No surprises on delivery day.

It makes approvals easy. For commercial jobs, drawings are essential for permitting, landlord sign-offs, and coordinating with other trades. We give you documentation other platforms simply don't provide.

Why most competitors can't do this

Drawings of your specific product require in-house engineering and manufacturing. Sellers who resell fixed-size catalog units or import finished goods have nothing custom to draw — you get whatever standard size is closest. Because we design and build in-house, every order can be drawn, verified, and confirmed before we cut metal.

Frequently asked questions

Do I have to approve drawings before you build?

For custom work, drawings let you verify everything up front so the finished awning matches your expectations exactly.

Can I use the drawings for permits or landlord approval?

Yes — they're a big help for commercial permitting and sign-offs.

What if I want a change after seeing the drawing?

That's exactly the point of sending them. We adjust before production, not after.
